Contemplative Wisdom: Embracing Silence in a Dynamic World

With the current debate triggered by Mr. Narayan Murthy, other prominent enterprenuers happening on urging youth of the country maximise and put longer working efforts for collective development and progress of the country. I think his understanding stems from G. Michael Hopf's post-apocalypic novel “Those Who Remain”: “Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak men, and weak men create hard times.”. 2-3 generations of british soldiers spent most of their lives on battefield to make next 3-4 generations rich.,though now the story is different, the means of exploitation of nations & resources is twisted socioeconotechnopolitico ,hard for common man to understand -:)

I guess apart from bearing fruits for his hardwork with the capitalist model., . NRN comes from a India which was quenced dry by reigns/regimes/polices etc and as he has mentioned bcoz he was getting significant outcomes for the tremendous hardwork( obviously luck matters even if we rationally deny it being abstract) ..he was willing to do that work everyday. The reality remains that 80% average skilled people and below average which is normally the vast majority of population will succummb or have to definitely find sustenance into 1.getting work 2.keeping work 3. Being healthy both mental and physically.(The last is causing more havoc than discussed or debated, goes mostly unnoticed via egoistic ignorance) .Just a recent ride on the older rickshaw walas and bus drivers are unhappy with metro aka development, coz its going to affect their livelihood and they have survive the transition so would their family.Question is what should the average working class do in this "wanting all" to go rapidity of change? Social media is abound with more of lucky pseudo intellectual lads consistent on need to embrace the change faster.

Now where  distractions , fear , anxiety exists in abundance in our current world, seems like a tall order.Majority youth wants more and better experential living , enhanced quality of life, but not sure how one measures the quality of the experiences itself.Does it really reduce the restlessness and provide enough clarify about life .Or its provides traversal from one happiness in search of another happiness by triggering dopamine shots thus bolstering consumerism to fuel the wheels of faster change.Need for increasingly instant gratification and appreciation in this virtually connected world.

Do you remember our younger ages those who are middle age group, our parents had the just only enough or lesser amount of resources, but there was better sense of fulfilment even in that inadequacy, surprisingly though. Does it mean they were not ambitious enough or there was no information technology exposing them to the abundant opprtunities that existed elsewhere for progress.Or they were not educated enough to take the right steps for betterment of their generation. Or their whole fight was about just existence only and had no clue about their purpose etc..Only a handful of businessmen , beaurocrats, politicians had a sense of urgeny to make growth happen?. And now with more and more material comforts, why is this sense of increasing restlessness, comparison in abounds, peer pressure....Has the growth orientation set the course of continous exploitation of resources, man, machine, nature for betterment, resulting in hyperisation of everything - inflation,ROI, productivity, experiences, savings, security, happiness, status, fame.? is this hyperisation in every aspect the way to go for our existential survival or growth per.se.

May be the answer lies in some contemplation amidst this rush of actions/ mostly reactions 😊 ,or ....what do u think?

"In a results-driven world, silence holds a profound perspective, urging us to pause, reflect, and appreciate life's subtleties."

Failures of action-oriented approaches:

"Overemphasis on action neglects introspection and authentic self-understanding, hindering balance."

The power of the report:

"Reflection breaks the cycle, offering deep understanding and sacred stillness."

The Art of Active Unemployment:

"Taoist philosophy teaches discernment in action, finding power in intentional restraint and moderation."

Yin and Yang Dance:

Yin-Yang's dance symbolizes action and contemplation's interplay, harmonizing existence through purposeful balance, enriching life's intricate tapestry

Finding Purpose and Fulfillment:

In a world obsessed with constant movement, we can overlook the deep insights of the contemplative state. Here we wrestle with the existential questions that define our purpose and meaning. Through reflection, we develop a deeper connection with ourselves, our values, and the world at large.

Conclusion:

In a culture that respects action, the art of contemplation(again abstract enough be boring) is a counterpoint—a demonstration of the power of stillness in a constantly moving world. This is not a call to laziness, but an invitation to embrace the wisdom that comes from stopping, contemplating and appreciating the subtleties of existence. In this meditative state(even though boring for most) we find the seeds of true understanding and the source of wisdom that enriches our journey through life. Through this balanced dance of action and contemplation, we create a path of true fulfillment and purpose
